Corey Walkes stormed to a comprehensive victory in his age group at the first national trampolining gala of the season in Gillingham, Kent, at the weekend.

The Writhlington School pupil's score of 82.645 was well above the 77.5 qualification score for the British Trampoline, DMT & Tumbling Championships in Birmingham in July, and put him well clear of his nearest rivals.

The Year 7 pupil will travel to the Lilleshall National Sports Centre on Sunday to take part in trials for the TRA High Performance National Junior Squad for 11 and 12 year-olds.
