Old Bristolians 0 Winscombe Ladies 4

League leaders Old Bristolians were put to the sword as Winscombe ran riot with a commanding display.

Winscombe began the game with determination and Charlie Phillips, Chloe Brown and Gabby Richardson worked hard down the right. Brown released Sarah Holland, who hit the backboards to open the scoring.

The visitors' back-line of Juju O'Sullivan, Caitlyn Flood, Charlie Phillips and Michelle Isgar combined well to keep any Bristolians attack at bay, while captain Kelly Clarke gave her side a 2-0 lead at half- time following a penalty corner.

Player of the match Jade Barry worked tirelessly with Leanne Gardner and Kerri Willis to win another penalty corner. Clarke was on target again, flicking the ball past the goalkeeper for a 3-0 advantage.

Bristolians had chances themselves but Kate Walker produced an outstandingly display between the sticks, while Winscombe's fourth goal came when Richardson found space after a penalty corner to fire home.

Knowle 2nd 1 Winscombe Ladies 3rd 0

A solitary strike condemned Winscombe to defeat as home side Knowle secured the points in an even contest.

One lapse in organisation and concentration resulted in the home side breaking through and only some very good goalkeeping and a failure to convert their chances denied Winscombe a draw.

Visiting stopper Roxy Newman also made several outstanding saves throughout the match, while Sarah Kempster, Jo Hann, Rachel Wallace and Ashleigh coped well with the speed of the opposition forwards.

The midfield of Gail Izzard, Gill Harvey, Shirley Hartshorne, Amy Cheeseborough and Emma Whitehead worked hard as usual, with Megan Hyden, Vicki Pagett, Alice Sloman and Hannah Hussey unlucky not break through Knowle's defence.

Had advantage been played on several occasions, Hyden and Whitehead would both have hit the backboards but they were denied by the umpire's eager calls.

Player of the match: Gail Izzard.
