Bath U13s 14

Winscombe U13s 41

In the first half, Winscombe played some of their best rugby for a long time.

The forwards had control in the ruck and it was not long before fly-half Darren Atkins capitalised with an incisive burst to score a try just outside the posts, which he converted himself.

However, it was very much a forwards' match and Atkins' initial score was soon followed by one from Tommy Parsons.

Captain Sam Hartshorne then scored with a pick-up from the back of the scrum, leaving the half-time score at 17-0.

The visitors' momentum continued from the restart when Tom Cooksey burst through to score a try. Parsons then struck again, converted by Charlie Beake.

Huw Richardson and Sam Rees enjoyed territory-building breaks, but it was Josh Daly who was next on the scoresheet. Beake converted again.

Winscombe were not finished yet and it was again the forwards who built the attacking platform for the scores to follow.

Henry Samuel, Tom Young, James Semple, Rob Bennett, Ryan and Jack Hodson, and Harry Townend contributed to a terrific display, and it was only right that captain Hartshorne should score the final try.
