College demolition to make way for new buildings
A multi-million pound project to replace buildings at Norton Radstock College will take a step forward when the old Northside Building is demolished at the end of the month.
It will be replaced with the latest facilities for budding engineers and animal care students with the new state-of-the-art building due to open in September 2013.
Work on preparing the Northside Building for demolition began during the summer holiday.
For the 2012-2013 term engineering students have moved to Unit E, Third Avenue, Westfield Industrial Estate, Radstock.

Peter Hodgson, vice-principal corporate, said: "These are exciting improvements to the learning environment for our engineering students and veterinary nurses.
"The new two-storey structure will feature state-of-the-art teaching and learning spaces as well as student social facilities which means it will benefit all those who come here to study.
"We were fortunate to secure funding which means that rather than refurbish the existing building, which dates to the 1950s, it can be demolished and a new purpose-built facility ready for the 21st century can be created which will provide fantastic facilities for all our students."
