Avalon 41 Club

Over 45 years of friendship between Avalon and Shepton Mallet during their Round Table Years and currently as 41 Club members continued with an inter-club skittle challenge match held at the Horseshoe Inn, Shepton Mallet.

If the level of verbal activity between members of the two clubs was the prime target for the night then everyone would simply shake hands on a 100 per cent draw.

However the skittle results for the Avalon 41 Club told a different tale when Avalon's captain, Dudley Tremaine, kicked off the proceedings with a 'skittler's nine', a beautiful 14 spare by Peter Cabble and top score of the evening by Dave Baker resulted in Shepton Mallet 41 Club unfortunately trailing into second place.

John Reakes, Shepton Mallet 41 Club president, thanked Ken and Steph (proprietors of The Horseshoe Inn) for providing a plentiful supply of ale and hearty food on the night and proposed a final toast of the evening to "continued friendship".
