Cllr John Williams: Brewhouse Theatre closure a 'tremendous loss' for Taunton
Since the curtain fell at the Brewhouse Theatre’s final performance last night, fingers of blame have been pointed at funding cuts by Somerset County Council and Taunton Deane Borough Council.
Earlier this afternoon, Taunton Deane council leader John Williams took to the airwaves to assure the people of Taunton that they did what they could for the community theatre.

“The council did work very hard to try and come to some agreement but unfortunately we just did not have a deep enough pocket to sustain it.
“As we have always supported the Brewhouse we will consider, subject to members agreeing, continuing that support in some way or other.”
