Cases Somerset Rebels will be hoping for better weather this Friday when defending Premier League champions Glasgow Tigers visit the Oaktree Arena.

Last Friday's scheduled visit from Berwick Bandits was postponed following heavy rain, but the Rebels are hoping for a swift return to action on June 15 (7.30pm).

Although Glasgow come to the Oaktree as Premier League champions, they were put to the sword on their two visits to Somerset last year. The Rebels will be hoping for more of the same this Friday.

The Tigers have retained their top two riders, Joe Screen and James Grieves, for the 2012 season.

They are no strangers to success at the Oaktree Arena, having won the 2011 Premier League Pairs Championship there.

Back into the side after being forced to miss a fair proportion of last season due to a badly broken leg is exciting Aussie Josh Grajczonek, with the top five being rounded out by Czech Filip Sitera and British rider Chris Mills.

Finally, at reserve, the Tigers track two young Australian riders who are both in their debut season of riding in the UK, Mason Campton and Jayden O’Malley.

The Rebels are virtually resigned to the fact that they will go into the meeting with Claus Vissing still sidelined as the Dane continues his recovery from a punctured lung sustained at Sheffield 10 days ago.

If Vissing is deemed as not being fully fit to ride, Somerset will use the rider replacement facility in his place.

“Although Glasgow may not have had the best of starts to the season, there is nothing more dangerous than a wounded Tiger,” said Rebels promoter Debbie Hancock, “so we must not let our focus or concentration drop come Friday’s match if we want to bag all three league points.

"But in saying that, I am sure that even if we come to the tapes on Friday without Claus, we will have more than enough firepower within the ranks to ensure that we not only win the match, but to also claim those three league points.”
