Clarrie Dunbar Indoor Bowls Club progress in three national competitions
Clarrie Dunbar Indoor Bowls Club enjoyed a winning weekend as three teams won their contests in the early stages of national competitions.
The ladies were comfortable 95-69 winners against Bristol in the second round of the Yetton Trophy on Saturday, which saw two rinks played at home and two away.
Two good rinks in Bristol saw Ann Jones and Jo Dunford skip their teams to victory by a combined total of 16 shots to put Clarrie in control.
Although the rink wins were shared at home, Clarrie gained a further ten-shot advantage as Jeanette Wheeler's quartet triumphed by ten shots, while Teresa King's lost by five.

Clarrie will take on Clevedon in the third round on November 9.
In the Top Club, a mixed national knockout event, Clarrie won 12-4 against Clevedon, with an aggregate score of 96-65.
Having beaten Westlecot in the first round, Clarrie were handed a home draw for the second round and the victory was built on the dominance of the mixed fours, skipped by Graham Shadwell, who surged to a ten-shot advantage at the halfway stage and improved to win by 26.
In the shorter singles format, Thelma Deane and Keith Bailey took early points, while points were shared in tight pairs and triples contests.

After two successful matches on Saturday, Clarrie made it three our of three on Sunday with an 86-58 victory over North Wilts in the second round of the Egham Trophy, a mixed competition in which two rinks are played at home and two away.
The match was dominated by the Chippenham-based side early on and they led 38-28 after ten ends but Clarrie fought back over the next five ends to lead 56-46 and then surged to victory.
Clarrie's biggest winning rink was skipped by debutant and former Welsh international Neil Collett, whose rink won by 15 at Chippenham.
Clarrie play Bristol in the third round on November 10.
Clarrie's men take centre stage this weekend, taking on Nailsea in the first round of the Denny Cup, a national knockout competition, on Saturday.
They then begin their Wessex League Central Region campaign on Sunday when they take on local rivals Purnell.
