Civil servants to stage protests
MEMBERS of the Public and Commercial Services Union are set to protest in the Bristol area today over the Government's plans to tear up their existing working conditions.
In the South West, PCS has more than 20,000 members working in job centres, heritage sites, tax offices, land registry offices, benefit offices, courts and many more civil service department offices and agencies.
The protests will last 15 minutes during lunch hours outside workplaces.
There were due to be protests at the Revenue and Customs offices in the city centre and the Ministry of Defence offices at Abbey Wood.
Other demonstrations will take place at the Natural England and Vehicle and Operator Services Agency offices in Bristol, and at the Ministry of Justice offices in Weston-super-Mare.
