Call for Chew Valley attractions to be put on Somerset tourism map
Calls have been made for marketing officials to do more to promote the Chew Valley and Mendips in local tourism literature.
Chew Valley North councillor Liz Richardson (Con), has called upon Bath and North East Somerset Council and Bath Tourism Plus to ensure that the area's attractions are included in promotional material, after claiming the area had been airbrushed out of the latest Visit Bath brochure.

The brochure, which provides information for tourists on places to visit in and around Bath, includes attractions in the Cotswolds, Wiltshire and the Somer Valley, but makes little mention of the Chew Valley and Mendips.
Mrs Richardson said: "We have many attractions here in the Chew Valley and Mendips worthy of inclusion in the council's promotional material, including numerous scenic walks through our beautiful countryside, our own ancient stone circle, picturesque villages, country pubs and of course the lakes themselves.

"Yet for some reason none of these get a mention in the latest Visit Bath booklet, whilst areas outside the authority such as Wiltshire and the Cotswolds are featured heavily.
"I have called on the council to ensure that in future editions of this booklet, and other tourist material, the attractions in rural B&NES are not forgotten.
"It's important for our local economy to encourage people to come and visit our area, use our pubs and restaurants and stay in local B&Bs."
Nick Brooks Sykes, chief executive of Bath Tourism Plus, said: "The Visitor Guide is just one part of our promotional collateral and does a very specific job: it aims to position the city and surrounding area and encourage readers to find out more. It is a 'pre-arrival' piece of print, which gives a flavour of what our area can offer and tempts the reader to find out more. It is not a definitive guide."
He said the brochure was intended to complement the VisitBath website and app, and that BTP was working to promote rural areas by creating a print brochure for visitors who come to the city.
