Cheddar staff member celebrated at Somerset Care Awards
SOMERSET Care held their annual awards ceremony on in September at which Kathleen Salway, administrator at Greenhill House, was presented with a 20 year Long Service Award.
Over 180 guests attended the event which was held at the Somerset County Cricket Ground, Taunton, on September 26.
Staff were recognised for their long service and special achievements. In total the ceremony celebrated 655 years of long service, with one staff member celebrating 40 years.
In addition to long service, presentations were made to staff members who had been nominated by their fellow colleagues for their special achievements, with an Overall Winner being announced in each category.

Attendees heard speeches from chief executive Alyson Martin, director of care services Eoin Keogh, group head of HR and training Susan Baverstock, and chairman Chris Davies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Alyson Martin said: “It is wonderful to see so many of our staff members being honoured for their commitment and dedication to Somerset Care.
"It has been a lovely day and a pleasure to be able to celebrate the achievements of our staff.”
Somerset Care is one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare providers in Southern England.
The Company provides over 39,000 hours of community care every week of the year to people in their own homes in 15 local authority areas, and through their residential care services they operate 32 care homes which provide residential and nursing care for over 1,550 residents.
