Cheddar's Sarah Comer Trust coming to an end after 225 years
Cheddar youngsters are being encouraged to apply for grants to help them with their education or training before a 225-year-old youth scheme finishes due to lack of funds.
Cheddar residents can apply to the Sarah Comer Educational Trust to help them in their education, training or with helping communities.
The Sarah Comer Educational Trust trustees are inviting young people between 16 and 25 years old to apply before the deadline on November 11.
With aims very similar to the Cheddar Youth Trust, The Sarah Comer Trust features education and training at its core. It covers the educational experience of travel and leadership within its aims.

Unlike the Cheddar Youth Trust, which accepts applications from under 16s, the Sarah Comer Trust age range is limited because the original idea was to support youngsters during apprenticeships.
However, applicants are encouraged to apply to both the Cheddar Youth Trust and the Sarah Comer Trust.
Since its establishment in 2000, the Cheddar Youth Trust has raised over £85,000 and provided grants of over £15,000 to 140 young people.
In the past 18 months alone, the Cheddar Youth Trust has made grants of more than £4,000 to 29 applicants to help them across a wide range of areas.
Application forms for both trusts can be downloaded from www.cyt.org.uk or picked up from BGW solicitors office in Church St, Cheddar.
All applications need to be handed into BGW Solicitors by November 11.
