PEOPLE wanting to trace their family history are being offered help from a specialist archivist.

An archivist from Somerset Heritage Centre is visiting North Somerset Studies Library in Weston- super-Mare Town Hall on January 10 and March 7 to advise on Somerset history and families.

People who want to consult documents from the files need to contact the archivist a week before the date – so today for the first session – by calling 01823 278805 or by e-mailing archives@somerset.gov.uk.

Weston-super-Mare and District Family History Society is also holding a series of free advice sessions at the library on the first and third Saturday of the month from 2pm to 3.30pm.
