Chance to remember nightclub's glory days at Oscars reunion bash
Anyone who used to trip the light fantastic at Oscars nightclub at Longleat of a weekend is being invited to a reunion party, billed as "the party of 2013".
The nightclub was originally called Boxers and was held at the Bath and West Showground.
Later it was moved to the Longleat estate and underwent a name change, becoming known as Oscars.
Martin Weeks and Paul Chappell are organising the night, which will take the form of an 80s party.
While attracting well-known faces, Oscars increasingly gained an infamous reputation and was eventually closed in 2003 with accusations of drugs and violence.
However for generations of 30, 40 and 50-somethings from Frome and surrounding area, Oscars nightclub brings back very fond memories.
Now those heady days are to be remembered at the reunion, to be staged on February 9, at its original location in the Cheese Pavilion, on the Bath and West Showground.
The party is being sponsored by Brothers Cider and proceeds will go to the Help for Heroes charity.
Tickets are priced £10 and for more details of where to get tickets, see the www.facebook.com/Boxers OscarsNightclubs Reunion web page.
