Chance for older people to socialise at Hub in a Pub at The Stoke Inn
New activities are being lined up at a mini community centre at a village pub.
Age UK B&NES has revealed plans for a range of new initiatives at the Hub in a Pub at The Stoke Inn in Chew Stoke.
Next Thursday sees the launch of the Lunch Bunch at 12.30pm, a series of sociable lunches to be held at a different pub each month around the Chew Valley.
Following on from the success of the ITea and Biscuit event last month, the Hub in a Pub is launching a series of Gadget Buster sessions in November. There will be a course of four free taster sessions designed to encourage people to try out IT in all its forms.

A new group called Chew Valley Older People Speak is also being set up. CHOPS will hold regular meetings which will act as a forum for identifying and discussing issues that local older people find challenging.
Karen Lyne, Age UK B&NES' new community development worker in the Chew Valley, said: "I'm very excited about our plans. There's already a lot of interest and we're really keen to involve as many people from the local community as possible.
"We want them to help us spread the message about our activities and keep us informed about what people want to see happen at The Hub."
