Four fire crews from Shepton Mallet, Wells and Glastonbury cut off the roof of a car to free a woman passenger trapped after a crash.

They used hydraulic cutting equipment to free a woman from the front of a car after a two vehicle crash on the A37 at the Charlton Road crossroads in Shepton Mallet.

The passenger was taken by ambulance to Yeovil District Hospital with spinal injuries.

The road was closed while the emergency services dealt with the accident on Wednesday evening last week.
