Cancer charity boost
A beekeeper has donated the sweet success of his efforts to a Wells-based charity.
CLIC Sargent's Wells shop manager Vanessa Nelson has received a cheque towards the charity's work from online organic box supplier Kerry Dodd, of Hembridge Organics, based near Shepton Mallet.

The money donated had been raised by a beekeeper customer who sold his honey through her box scheme.
Kerry and the honey supplier, who wishes to remain anonymous, decided to donate the funds to children and young people's cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

The money could pay for two hours of support from a CLIC Sargent nurse or two nights in one of the charity's Home from Homes, which provide free accommodation for families near major cancer treatment centres.
Kerry is hoping the donation will help encourage others.
"My mother died of cancer and I have a seven year old son," she said.
"Not only would I struggle to cope if he was diagnosed with cancer, but I also would struggle to explain it to him.
"I know CLIC Sargent have nurses and social workers who offer emotional, clinical and practical support for children young people and their families, so that is why I support the charity."
