Just a few months ago Somerset's Jenson Button didn't have a ride for this season's Formula 1 championship.

Now he is celebrating after winning the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

The 29-year-old from Frome was left wondering if he would have a team to race for when Honda pulled out of Formula 1, but the newly-formed Brawn GP stepped in - and Button triumphed at Albert Park on Sunday.

Previously, Button had only won one race in 113 F1 outings, at the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest in 2006, but rivals of Brawn GP have agreed that he will be among the front runners if the pre-season form transfers to races.

But he led from the start on Sunday to record a famous victory.
