Dave Stradwick's Sussex Jazz Kings are the next guest band at Cheddar Valley Jazz Club.

Early in 2000, Dave and Lesley Stradwick moved from their London home to Sussex for a quieter life.

Dave, pictured, had been the leader of Vintage Jazz for many years and had also played with other busy bands.

A decision was made to leave Vintage and so cut down on the workload. But soon he decided to form another band and the Sussex Jazz Kings came into being. It started with a low-key fun approach, but then followed a rise in popularity and Dave is now concentrating on leading his own band again.

The band plays at all the major jazz festivals and receives many repeat bookings as well as playing in Europe.

They will be at the club, which is held at the Bath Arms, in Cheddar, on Wednesday, from 8pm.

Entry is £6 for members and £7 for non-members.
