The boss of the region's premier four-star hotel will be swapping his usual 'haute cuisine' for meals of an altogether rustic nature on 22 February.

Colin Badcock, general manager at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House in Congresbury is now getting prepared for a day of wilderness challenges that will see him and fellow bosses battle the wilds of North Somerset, lighting their own fires, dodging the region's creepy crawlies and foraging for their own food.

All part of Weston Hospicecare's 'I'm A Boss Get Me Out of Here' initiative Colin says he's quite happy to take on any challenge presented on the day although he does confess to enjoy his creature comforts.

And having worked up a healthy appetite following their day in the countryside Colin and his intrepid comrades will be presented with a platter of delicious 'bush' tucker.

He said: "I'm more Paddington Bear than Bear Grylls.

"Seriously though it's a great and fun way to raise money for this fantastic charity and hopefully my time enjoying what will no doubt turn out to be some interesting delicacies will help make a difference to the lives of local people.

"Weston Hospicecare is a fantastic local hospice which not only provides the basics but goes the extra mile providing the local touch which helps those with life-limiting illnesses and their families."
