Burglars target several Ilchester properties
Residents have been reminded to secure their properties after several break-ins in Ilchester last week.
Burglars targeted a number of residential and commercial properties - including Norseland Cheese and Ilchester Primary School - between Thursday, August 15 and Saturday, August 17.
They broke into sheds and cut through locks, police said. Garden power tools and a push bike were stolen.
PC Katie Maun, of Wincanton neighbourhood team, said: “I advise that any tools of value should be marked either with UV marker pen - recording home postcode - or adding a distinctive mark to the property.
“If it is possible, chain or lock the property within the shed - anything to make it more difficult for offenders to take the items. Alarmed padlocks are available."
