Estate agent Mark Franklin of Tamlyns said the house is one of the most unusual he has seen.
It has a sitting/dining/kitchen room, a rear hall and bathroom on the ground floor and a double bedroom on the first floor.
Mr Franklin said: “We had someone come all the way down from Surrey to see it. There has been interest in it. It's very unusual and would suit a single person. There'll be somebody out there it would suit.”
And it looks like a bargain when compared to the cost of other properties in the area.
The average price for a flat in Sedgemoor is £96,730 or £279,612 for a detached house.
Mr Franklin said the property is a perfect first-time buy. It has double glazing and electric heating.
But be warned, the ceiling of the bedroom follows the line of the gable so some will have to ‘duck’, not inappropriate when the house also boasts a view of the canal.
Remarkably it is not the cheapest property available in Bridgwater at the moment.
Website www.zoopla.co.uk lists seven flats in the Somerset town that are cheaper than the asking price for the converted garage. A one-bed flat in a retirement complex at £45,000 is the lowest priced property on the market.
