Johnson said he had identified further targets but any more dealing s in the current transfer window would be subject to further discussions with the Yeovil board of directors.

"We could find someone and I will go to the board. They could say 'unfortunately there are not enough finances' but that won't stop me trying.

"The board will have a good or bad argument, depending how we see it, but it is business and it won't stop me recommending someone. Credit to them, so far they have backed what I brought in."

Edwards has made 17 appearances for the Glovers already this season and heads down the A37 after two successful loan spells in South Somerset.

Johnson added his pleasure at the lack of interest in the star players that have fired Yeovil to within a point of npower League One's play-off spots and said he will not sell players out of favour after the weekend.

"I am just pleased we are adding to the squad and not losing anyone we want to keep," he said. "We have sent a list out to say we don't want to do any business after January because I don't want to be cut short on January 29 with people coming in for our players.

"There are players we don't mind selling after January 20 but we don't want to sell any of our big guns after that because it doesn't give us any time to replace them."
