Bridgwater sports centre to open after £20 million schools revamp

A long-awaited leisure centre in Bridgwater is to open on Thursday.

The 1610 complex is part of the £20 million redevelopment of Robert Blake and Elmwood schools, under the Building Schools for the Future project.

Boss Tim Nightingale says the opening will help to make Bridgwater one of the best-equipped towns in the South West.

“The new centre will prove to be a fantastic fitness facility for this part of Bridgwater,” he said.
