Bridgwater Town v Taunton Town in doubt due to Fairfax Park pitch condition
Bridgwater Town’s derby clash at home to Taunton Town in Division One South and West of the Evo-Stik Southern League tonight is in serious doubt because of the bad state of the pitch at Fairfax Park.
Bridgwater have had their last eight matches postponed and joint manager Kevin Milsom said last night: “I will be very much surprised if our game against Taunton goes ahead.
All told, Bridgwater have now had 23 matches called off and secretary Roger Palmer added: “This has gone beyond a nightmare.
“It’s not just one thing which is causing all the trouble, it’s three things – snow, frost and rain.

“We first started postponing games in September and it’s gone on ever since. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it in all my years of football.
“It’s just one part of the ground which is causing us all the trouble and there will be a morning inspection.”
Bridgwater’s young striker Stan Paxton, a university student, has joined Toolstation League club Ilfracombe Town. He was originally with Willand Rovers before joining Bridgwater this season.
Yate Town bid to improve on their run of eight wins at home to Wimbrone tonight, while Paulton Rovers host Poole. Clevedon Town go to Cinderford and Mangotsfield are at Cirencester. Frome Town go to Weymouth in a Premier Division match.
