Bridgwater Town suffered their third postponement in nine days – and their 29th of the season – when their game at Sholing was called off last night because of a waterlogged pitch.

Sholing, who are pulling out of the Evo-Stik Southern League at the end of the season, carried out a pitch inspection at mid-day because deciding to postpone the Division One South and West game.

“This is no longer a normal season for us,” said Bridgwater secretary Roger Palmer last night. “We are faced with playing four games a week.

“It is crazy. I’ve no idea when we will be able to play Sholing – it will probably have to be on a Sunday.”
