Bridgwater Town striker Dave Pearse poised to join Tiverton Town

Evo-Stik League Southern club Bridgwater Town have suffered a double blow.

Striker Dave Pearse is set to join rivals Tiverton Town while defender Kye Thomas has been ruled out for the rest of the season with damaged knee ligaments.

Pearse previously played for another Devon club Bideford before joining Bridgwater at the beginning of last season.

Pearse has been a regular in Bridgwater’s side since joining them.

Thomas was injured early on in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Bognor Regis in the FA Trophy and Bridgwater’s joint manager Kevin Milsom said: “It happened right in front of us and we knew it was serious. He faces an operation and could be out for nine months.”

Bridgwater will be back in action tonight when they play at home to Bishop’s Cleeve in Division One South and West.

Centre back Bradley Middleton returns tafter completing a one-match ban for collecting five bookings.
