Bridgwater Town boss blasts ref after heavy Swindon Supermarine defeat
Bridgwater Town joint-manager Kevin Milsom was incensed by referee Paul Lester’s decision to allow Swindon Supermarine’s first goal in their heavy 4-0 home defeat in Division One South & West of the Evo-Stik Southern League.
Town goalkeeper Luke Purnell was lying in the penalty area with a dislocated shoulder, but Mr Lester refused to halt play and allowed Josh Parsons’ opening goal to stand.
“I’ve not seen anything quite like it,” said Milsom. “How can you allow play to continue? Any referee with any common sense would have stopped the game to see if he was all right, which clearly he wasn’t.”
Ashley Edenborough, Parsons and Jamie Prictor scored further goals to complete the home side’s misery.
