Hearing of Ed's success with the guitar June invited him to play it for her.
Ed said: "It was a great honour to play for June in her home.
"I was pretty nervous but she was just like my Gran and made me a cup of tea.
"I played her a number of songs to which she listened intently. She had some comments about the lyrics and made some helpful suggestions.
"It was amazing to hear her talk about the filming she is currently doing for Midsomer Murders and Jonathan Creek.
Ed will be performing at St Georges, Bristol on November 3 for the Mic UK Regional Final.
