Cheddar U9s B 1

Hutton U9s B 10

Early saves from Cheddar keeper Cameron McColm helped to settle nerves, but nonetheless the visitors managed to open the scoring in the first three minutes.

Three more quick goals displayed why Hutton are having such a strong season before the home team found their feet, midfielder William Britt unfortunate to hit the side-netting from 10 yards out.

Catling and King then put together a series of probing attacks which threatened to level the scoresheet but the locals found themselves under pressure as the first half wore on, the Cheddar defence of Poyner and Frost fighting hard to contain the onslaught of the blues and yellows.

The half-time whistle brought a welcome break and wise words from coach Simon Willies, but with the second period the deficit built, despite bright spots for the junior Cheesemen as Carroll and Morris pushed the play forward into the opposition's half.

The final minutes took the spectators' hands into the numb zone and the away team's total into double figures, before Cheddar's agony was briefly eased by a fine strike from Joe Bracewell which eluded the Hutton keeper. Player of the match: James King.
