DOUBLE ACT: Malcolm Young and his grandson Xavier Driver have compiled a book of churches in the Yeovil and Ivelchester Deaneries
In 2009, they released Churches of the Crewkerne and Ilminster Deanery.
Regular Western Gazette columnist Mr Young said: "It's quite interesting to go to a church where there does not seem to be a lot there, but that when you scratch beneath the surface it's a treasure trove.
"We've met some really interesting people who know about these churches and can tell you some brilliant stories.
"Every church has its own quirky little history and it's difficult to pick which ones are my favourites."
The pair, both of Ilminster, have received positive feedback from readers on their first book.
Mr Young said: "We've had people call us up to say they've been following in our footsteps, as well as people from the churches we've visited thanking us for what we've written. Xavier is also turning into quite a budding photographer and is beginning to branch out by doing photos of the family.
"We will keep doing this for a while yet, but Xavier is starting a new school next year and his interests may change. But even if this happens, I hope to keep going with it for as long as I can.
"We both enjoy it and although it seems like putting all these churches together in one book would be a challenge, it's always remained a hobby for us and something we find to be a lot of fun more than anything else."
