YEOVIL Town manager Terry Skiverton has apologised to fans for Saturday's 4-0 drubbing at Notts County, vowing to add to his squad this week.

The Glovers went down with a whimper at Meadow Lane in npower League One as a trio of defensive errors gifted the Magpies a 3-0 half time lead.

Skiverton was without Andy Williams (ankle), Sam Williams (suspended) and Dean Bowditch (illness) for the trip, forcing him to field defender Adam Virgo as a striker and defensive midfielder Luke Ayling on the right wing.

Despite his weakened team, Skiverton told the 316 travelling supporters the performance was "not good enough" and said another new face would arrive at Huish Park this week.

"First and foremost I would like to take responsibility for what happened today," he said. "I am not happy with it and I would just like to apologise to the travelling supporters because for us as a football club that was not good enough today.

"I could come out today and make all sorts of excuses but I am not prepared to do that and that was not good enough.

"We will stand up, we will assess what has happened and I think it has forced my hand with someone that will be coming in during the next week.

"If people find themselves on the outside they will know why and if people find themselves still in the team then they will know why.

"We need to shake things up, we need to change things and I have been persevering with a couple. People have stepped in to take their chance, but I do not feel anybody did that today.

"If I had paid my money and come up here then I would liked to have seen people showing a lot more effort and commitment."

Craig Westcarr opened the scoring for County, before Ben Davies grabbed two. Lee Hughes completed the scoring on 72 minutes.

Skiverton said: "The players have got to take responsibility for themselves. I cannot just leave them to do that, I have got to take responsibility for what I have done."
