In Bloom committee targets national crown
Work has already started on this year's Radstock In Bloom with an appeal for more volunteers and groups to help take the town to a national level entry.
The 2012 entry is based on the theme of "Celebrate" and the In Bloom committee are keen that more people contribute to the It's Your Neighbourhood section as well as the main contest.

Writhlington School, which won honours in last year's competition as Best South West in Bloom It's Your Neighbourhood, is already in the national competition. But the committee said for the town to follow a lot more hard work is needed as well as sponsorship.
The committee is also endeavouring to obtain an It's Your Neighbourhood Community Noticeboard and to produce a newsletter.
At their annual meeting they welcomed Radstock Co-operative's new representatives on the committee and made plans for the Writhlington Village Hall area.
In Bloom chairman Gary Dando said: "It is clear that Radco could be a Neighbourhood and win a prize itself this year."
Secretary Eleanor Jackson said: "Haydon residents are launching such amazing projects that we should be unstoppable."
The committee is also determined to see the Haydon allotments improved and more plots brought on stream.
