The incident happened shortly after 1pm, and Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

The man has just two per cent vision and the only description of his two attackers is that they were male and female.

PC Nicholas Cooke said: "This was an attack on a man who clearly had sight problems and was not able to defend himself.

"He was pushed twice in the chest but it must have been a frightful experience as he had no idea what was coming next.

"The victim ran away and bumped into someone as he went. I am particularly keen to speak to that person.

"I ask the two people involved to examine their conscience and contact the police to help our investigation.

"I am determined to pursue all the lines of enquiry available to me to identify those people and bring them to justice."

Anyone with information should call PC Cooke on 101.
