Blackford flood defences breached for first time after heavy rain
Flooding at Blackford, between Burnham-on-Sea and Wedmore, has over topped the flood defences for the first time since they were installed in the 1960s.
The culverts are more than four feet deep.
The A38 at Shute Shelve is blocked and firefighters were pumping pumping out flood water from houses at Cross and Compton Bishop this morning.
