Former Bishop Peter Ball arrested on suspicion of abusing eight boys and men
Former Bishop of Gloucester Peter Ball has been arrested on suspicion of abusing eight boys and men.
The allegations related to the late 1980s and early 1990s.
He resigned as Bishop of Gloucester in 1993, a year after he was appointed.
The 80-year-old was arrested at his home near Langport, Somerset, earlier today.
The allegations relate mainly to East Sussex, and not Gloucestershire, police confirmed.
