This is Somerset

Hello everyone. I have been keeping myself warm in the cold and windy weather by flying my kite with my cousins. At the weekend we went up onto the hill and ran with our kites until they took off into the sky. At first I kept crashing mine but eventually I got the hang of it and it started going higher than all the others. By the end of the afternoon we were all very tired and, although our cheeks were rosy, our fingers were frozen. So we all went back to my house to have a mug of hot chocolate – yummy. Then we started telling each other weather jokes – here are a few that made me laugh:

What does the wind eat? A wind-meal. What falls but never gets hurt? Rain. How does the moon get the ice off its windscreen? It uses a sky scraper. What do you call a snowman in July? A puddle.

Why not write to me and let me know what you have been doing in the winter weather, or perhaps you could send me some more jokes. I will always try to include as many as I can on this page or my web page.

Now, I have some new members to introduce to you all this week. Molly Larkman, of Street, is joining us. Molly loves watching films, reading, writing and drawing and playing with her little sister and her two cats, Poppy and Pepper. Finley Bigden-Keene, of Shepton Mallet, is another new member. Finley likes playing with his little brother, Oliver, playing with his toys, playing football with his daddy and giving his mummy lots of cuddles and kisses. Oliver Bigden-Keene is joining us, too. Oliver was born last July and likes cuddles with mummy, daddy and his big brother, Finley. He also likes to play on his baby gym and do lots of crawling, but it probably won't be long until he starts to walk. A big Billie welcome to you all.
