THE Salthouse Pub in Clevedon is gearing up for a Big Noise this weekend when a new band takes to the stage.

The Big Noise was formed from the ashes of former Salthouse favourites Start!, who were known for their energetic sets of new wave and punk covers.

The five-piece band still use the high octane formula that made Start! popular but have widened their set to include a range of new wave, Indie, soul and funk classics - all delivered with energy, passion and a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour.

Drummer Graeme Lane said: "As The Big Noise, we've taken the best bits of Start! and added new songs, more energy and a few surprises to create an exciting mix.

"We're really looking forward to coming back to the Salthouse, which is always great fun to play."

The band play on Saturday, March 13, from 9.30pm.
