A celebratory Quarter Peal of 1260 changes of Grandsire Doubles was rung at St Leonard's Church, Marston Bigot, on October 23.

The quarter took 43 minutes to ring and was rung by six ringers who were all born in 1942 and celebrated their 70th birthdays this year.

Four of the ringers, Margaret, Clare, Mike and Trevor, were from the Postlebury Group who ring at Marston Bigot, Nunney and Wanstrow.

The ringers were: Treble, Clare Hulley, 2: Margaret Glasgow, 3: Chris Purnell, 4: Mike Singer, 5: Philip Gainsford, who conducted the peal, and 6: Trevor Smith.
