Bath Rugby will play Leicester Tigers on Friday, March 9
It will open a big weekend of sport for Bath, as on Sunday March 11 thousands of runners will take to the streets of Bath for the Bath Half Marathon, one of the longest-established and most popular city centre road events in the UK. It is also the largest charity fundraising event in the South West, raising over £1.4 million for charity last year alone.
Bath chief executive Nick Blofeld said: “We are very pleased to have secured the home semi-final in the LV= Cup after an excellent run in the pool stages, taking maximum points from each game.
“Matches against Leicester are always very tough and I’m sure this will be no different.
“We will be working closely with the Bath Half organisers to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible, and are looking forward to kicking off what will no doubt be an exciting weekend of sport at the heart of Bath.”
Don Foster, MP for Bath, added: “This will be a fantastic weekend for sport in Bath. Bath Rugby holds a very special place for many people in the City, as does the Bath Half, and I’m sure the City will really get behind both these two important events.”
