Bath City's FA Trophy tie against Grimsby Town postponed due to frozen pitch

Bath City's FA Trophy match against Grimsby Town has been postponed due to a frozen pitch at Twerton Park.

Following a 1pm pitch inspection, the game has now been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 7 (7.45pm), when City were due to be playing at Newport County in Blue Square Bet Premier action.

A new date for the rearranged Newport game will be announced by the club shortly.

Bath had been planning a grand reopening of the club bar Charlie's to coincide with tomorrow's FA Trophy game. That has now also been postponed, with details of a new ceremony to be announced soon.

Bath City U21s were scheduled to be in action at Twerton Park against Redditch United's youngsters on Tuesday night. That game will also be rearranged due to the FA Trophy switch.

Several Football League matches involving West Country sides have also been postponed as the big freeze hits the country.

AFC Bournemouth's home game against Exeter City in League One has been postponed, as has Torquay United's trip to Rotherham United in League Two.

Cheltenham Town's home game with AFC Wimbledon, and Hereford United's visit to Gillingham, have also been called off.
