Barbarians beaten by Henhayes hosts
IVEL Barbarians seconds returned to Yeovil on the wrong end of a 40-0 thumping by Crewkerne in Tribute Somerset Two South.
Acting fall back Nick Harris scored the first of the hosts' tries within the opening five minutes before hands in the ruck allowed Ollie Singleton to kick a penalty. Phil Broom finished a patient and calculated move to extend the Henhayes' team's lead, Singleton converting.
Hooker Steve Hunter surged through a series of Ivel tackles to crash over but a lull in Crewkerne's performance allowed Ivel to battle back. However, Wayne Best and Louis Davies dug in to prevent any further score before Singleton's boot brought another three points.
Scott Johnson touched down his second try of the season after the break and constant pressure allowed Alex Cannell to cross after two 'tries' disallowed for holding up. The hosts added a final converted try to compound Ivel's misery.
