Bridgwater CID are investigating and are looking into a lead that may be related to the unexpected drama.
At 8.30am on Tuesday a man was seen sitting within sight of the post office in a red van. The vehicle was possibly a Vauxhall combo or Ford Transit Connect around 10-12 years old and with a possibly number plate of EN03 *AR or similar.
The man was approached by a resident who mistook him for someone expected to do some building work on his chimney. He said he was and after initially going into the house, he made his excuses and left.
The person in the van is described as a white man, in his 30s, clean shaven with dark, curly hair.
Anyone with information about the incidents should contact Bridgwater CID on 101.
