Badgers to help farm workers in wage fight
Campaigners trying to save the Agricultural Wages Board – branded a “burdensome anomaly” by Frome MP David Heath yesterday – will protest as badgers outside a Defra board meeting today.
Unite has warned that scrapping the AWB in England and Wales would “plunge” 150,000 people towards poverty.
Activists will demonstrate in central London to draw attention to the closure of consultations on the proposals on November 12.
