BLOG: Sleek MakeUp i-Divine Vintage Romance Palette
I discovered Sleek MakeUp when writing a magazine for work, as we required samples of coral and apricot blushers and they kindly provided us with their '3 in Lace' blusher.
I am very lucky in that the PR lady for Sleek MakeUp offered to let me try out some more products for alldolledup and kindly sent me their new i-Divine vintage romance palette for sampling.
Having not used eye-shadow since around 2003, I am somewhat a novice when it comes to application! Although, one look at these gorgeous colours and I knew that however basic I started off with, these shades would look just as good alone or blended together. To begin with, I took some swatches to determine which colours would go best with my skin tone.
They are as followed from left to right:
Pretty in Paris
Meet in Madrid
Court in Cannes
Lust in LA
Romance in Rome
Purpose in Prague
A Vow in Venice
Marry in Monte Carlo
Honeymoon in Hollywood
Bliss in Barcelona
Forever in Florence
Love in London
I could tell right away that I would be able to create some 'beginner' subtle looks from the first four colours. My favourites turned out to be a combination of the gold tones in Meet in Madrid blended with the deep brown in Court in Cannes.
To create a more 'smoky' look, another combination I found to go well together was Marry in Monte Carlo mixed with Meet in Madrid blended into the corner of the eye and across the lash line for definition. I was amazed to see how just a small splash of colour could make all the difference to my overall look!
All of the colours in this palette are perfect for the new autumn/winter season with a vintage twist. I am really looking forward to experimenting with this palette and using some of the more 'daring' shades as the party season kicks in.
