The Best Business Video Category was set up to recognise the importance of video marketing in modern business, which is something Mr Surr fully understands and conveyed in his internet video series, Gingermagic TV.
Mr Surr said: “I was delighted to be honoured as a finalist, mainly because it wasn’t just a competition among other magicians, but I was up against hundreds of companies in the UK.
“There’s a lot of talent out there and some very big budgets compared to mine, which just goes to show that you don’t need to specialise in the cutting edge of video production to produce something fantastic.”
A panel of celebrity entrepreneurs, including BBC’s The Apprentice finalist Adam Corbally, were given the task of deciding the winners in each of the ten prestigious categories.
Speaking about Gingermagic TV, Mr Corbally said: “Damian’s video really stood out. It wasn’t just that the magic was great, it was an example of fantastic marketing.
“When you watch one of Damian’s videos, it immediately makes you want to use his services and that's all any business video is ever trying to achieve.”
The National Entrepreneur’s Convention was hosted by Nigel Botterill’s Entrepreneur’s Circle at the ICC on September 27 and 28 and featured a key note speech from Sir Chris Hoy.
