Assault charge man faces trial
A MAN accused of assaulting another man during an incident in Street has been ordered to stand trial before Somerset Magistrates.
Robert Gordon Lye, aged 32, of Primrose Terrace, Midsomer Norton, appeared in the dock before the court at Yeovil.
He pleaded not guilty to assaulting Pawel Niewski by beating him at Street on Tuesdaym August 27, this year.
A pre trial review - the final court hearing before the trial - was conducted this week.

During the review court was told the defendant claimed he had acted in self defence.
The trial date was fixed for February 7 next year.
Until his next court appearance the defendant was given bail on condition he does not contact the alleged victim directly or indirectly.
