An up and coming young artist and former Blue School student is to have his work exhibited at the London West Bank Gallery in October.

Steven Farmer, 26, who now goes by the name Stiffado-Dante, had his first show at the age of 21 at the Mauger gallery in Bath. His paintings were shown with those of Warhol and Banksy, making him the youngest British artist to exhibit alongside world famous artists.

Stiffado said of Banksy: "I'm not sure if I've actually met him but it was still quite an honour." His paintings were a hit in the Mauger exhibition and have since sold for more than £1,000.

Stiffado studied fine art at Norton Radstock College after attending the Blue School in Wells and Whitstone School in Shepton Mallet. He is living in mid-Somerset at the moment but plans to move to London.

His one-man show at the London West Bank Gallery will be his first exhibition in the capital. Stiffado said: "When I had a call from them saying they liked my work it was a big deal. They represent Banksy."

Stiffado was bullied at school but said: "My art is about life experiences not my school experience." He was recently diagnosed as bi-polar and said: "I hope my success might inspire other people with mental health problems to believe they can achieve something. I love art and I like to inspire people to achieve their dreams. I wanted to create something new for the artworld."

Nevon Thompson of Wells met Stiffado by chance after the Mauger exhibition. He helped organise an exhibition for Stiffado at Pylle Emporium and Gallery in Shepton Mallet where a lot of his work got snapped up. He also submitted one of his paintings to a group charity show in Japan to support Tsunami victims.

Stiffado said: "Nevon has been my guide, my spokesman and has helped me go in the right direction."

Stiffado-Dante's artwork will be exhibited at the London West Bank Gallery on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill from October 3-10.
