Every year Take Art works with more than 15,000 people in Somerset providing opportunities for all ages and abilities to experience, participate and work within the arts, they now need to raise £10,000 to continue to run in Somerset.

The Wookey Hole Club are supporting Take Art by staging a fundraising concert featuring the electrifying flamenco/ jazz guitarist Eduardo Niebla accompanied by Matthew Robinson on guitar.

The concert is on Thursday, November 15 at Wookey Hole Club, at 8pm.

Eduardo presents a passionate and sophisticated mix of flamenco, Latin jazz intertwined with classical traditions, eastern colours and a gypsy jazz edge.

He has worked with some of the top names in the music world including George Michael, and Craig David.

He has appeared at major festivals such as the Brecon Jazz festival and appeared on BBC 2's The Culture Show and BBC 4's World of Jazz.

Eduardo was originally born in Tangiers, Morocco, and brought up from the age of five in Gerona Spain surrounded by Gypsy street music and flamenco.

He travelled widely picking up other cultures and taking an interest in fusion and jazz before settling in the UK.

Eduardo was commissioned by the Ripon International Festival in 2007 to produce a collection of pieces premiered by 150 young people from his adopted North Yorkshire abode.

One of the organisers Gary Amos said: "We are delighted to be supporting Take Art in this way and bringing yet another international artist to Wookey Hole.

"Just before the arts funding cuts, we had some amazing Take Art concerts from acts as diverse as The Portico Quartet (UK avant garde jazz), Adriano Adewele (Brazilian percussionist), and Harald Haugaard (Danish folk violinist). This gig will certainly be in a similar class and is not to be missed."

Tickets are £10, concessions £8, and can be obtained in person from the Wookey Hole Club, by ringing 01761 241753 or online at the Take Art website www.takeart.org.

Eduardo is also performing at Mark Village Hall on Friday, November 16, and tickets are available from 01278 641370.
