Arsonists behind fire at Midsomer Norton paper storing unit

Crews were called to tackle a blaze at an industrial unit in Midsomer Norton, which is believed to have been started by arsonists.

Eight firefighters from Paulton and Radstock used high pressure hose reels to put out the fire and were on scene for three hours.

The blaze started at around 8.30pm on Thursday.

The 400 sq m building, on an industrial estate in First Avenue, Midsomer Norton, housed two tonnes of paper stored in bales.

Crews spent until 11.30pm ventilating the building, removing the paper, and damping down. The extent of damage was not made clear.

The matter was left in the hands of police.
